I am fascinated by Elon Musk. It has been my experience that most people have strong feelings when I bring up his name. The way I see it, he is first and foremost a visionary innovator.
While I don’t agree with everything he does, notably how he sometimes treats people, that doesn’t take away from the fact that he built several visionary companies. SpaceX being the most impressive of the bunch. How many of us have even the faintest idea how to build a rocket to send cargo and people to the International Space Station (ISS)?
Recently, I have been reading the new Walter Isaacson book on Elon Musk, simply titled “Elon Musk” and am thoroughly enjoying it. The readers learn about his troubled childhood including an abusive father whose behavior makes most people cringe. We also learn how extremely hard Elon (and his team) works, how he comes up with new ideas, how he optimizes processes, and his quick iteration thinking.
He also appears to be a sucker for love and prefers not to be alone. Despite having often volatile relationships with women, he has the capacity to love deeply. He is also a father of several children.
I haven’t finished the book yet, but highly recommend it. As far as Elon, invent away is what I say. The world needs more visionary thinkers like you.
